Help Me Spread the Message

Dear Friends:
I need your help.
I've met many of you at conscious aging conferences and workshops in recent years where we've shared deep talks and powerful wisdom. I thank you for your friendship and for considering this request. I know the rest of you from years of wonderfully shared life experiences.
As you know, I am a psychologist, interfaith minister, mystic and writer. The focus of my work is the psychology, spirituality and mysticism of the New Aging - a time of incredible possibilities for growth, transformation and service.
Now here's my problem. I have been working for the past twenty years (nine books, countless talks and workshops, endless articles and blogs) to create a platform on conscious sacred aging, that is, to build the presence, expertise and reputation necessary to disseminate what I believe is a life-giving vision for enlightened elders and the world. But breaking into the nation's collective awareness is an enormous challenge. When I began writing in 1995, there were maybe 50,000 books published each year in America. This number rose to over three million in 2010 and up from there. And the average book's sales are shockingly small - the typical nonfiction book sells less than 250 copies a year and rarely more than 3000 in its whole lifetime. How can an author's message ever get noticed? The answer is "word of mouth" which takes two forms: Online reviews (Amazon, B&N, GoodReads, readers' blogs, etc.) and personal recommendations to friends and family.
I recently gave a series of workshops on "What Shall I Give Back? Finding Our Calling in Caring for the World." I wanted to help conscious elders discern their most meaningful ways of loving the world (I'd be happy to send you a copy of this talk if you're interested again at no cost). What came up for me in creating it, however, was that writing is my way of giving back. My work unfolds a vision that I have been following since childhood, one I believe the world deeply needs at this difficult crossroads in our history.
So here's my request: Would you be willing to get one of my books, read it, and write an Amazon review and recommend to others? The books are available on Amazon or any online or local bookseller. I have never reached out like this before and I don't mean to take advantage of an impersonal plea, but at 70, I'm not sure how much longer I can run this race, so I'm asking you in the deepest sincerity to support this effort. My work is my gift to the world. And I assure you, I am not interested in making money, I'm interested in making a difference.
We are on the threshold of a massive shift in consciousness. I have seen across the threshold to the possibility of a new world. We can live as Divine Humans in a sacred land, rediscovering our lost pantheism (the world's original religion), but we must understand what this shift asks and how to make the change. It's time. The nation is roiling in pain. We have reached a tipping point. May the light of this message flow through you as you read these books. Let yourself be changed so you can change the world around you. This is not the world you think it is. Together let's transform our awareness of life's ultimate meaning and purpose.
Thank you for your support. Please feel free to write back if you're interested in a dialogue and please pass on this request to others. (You can learn more about my work at my website below.)
